CASEWORKER TO RUN THE CCA's 'WORK-RELATED DEATH ADVICE SERVICE'

Salary £20 - 26,000 p.a. (subject to experience)

Do you want to work in a cutting-edge organisation looking in detail at the role of state bodies in the investigation and prosecution of work-related deathss and injuries and in providing advice to clients?

Do you want to work in an innovative area of law and work in partnership with some of Britain's best lawyers?

Are you committed to working in a not-for-profit organisation working on issues of worker and public safety?

Because if you are, an exciting opportunity exists for a person of proven competance and ability, to run the CCA's highly regarded 'Work-Related Death Advice Service'.

you may be a lawyer or law graduate or a person with LPC or Bar qualification - but you will have to prove to us that you are committed to working in the voluntary sector;
alternatively, you may be a person who comes from a casework background in an advice-based organisation;
or you could come from a background of working on safety, environmental or corporate accountability issues but have the skills and ability to work as a caseworker
or you may be a person with a very different academic or professional background - though with some understanding of law and safety issues - who will be bringing skills and knowledge, other than those of law and casework, that will serve useful for this position.

The WRDAS is concerned with the investigation and prosecution issues that arise following a work-related death. You will be engaged in the assessment of cases involving deaths (and injuries) and will work directly with:

bereaved families
relevant public bodies including the police, the Health and Safety Executive and Crown Prosecution Service.
lawyers and trade union

The CCA will provide training to the successful candidate

The CCA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation engaged in advice, research and public education around safety, law enforcement and corporate criminal accountability.
