Inspectorate Resources
In 2005/6, the Inspectorate
received 28.1 million taka (€315,899) –
which is an increase of 37% compared to two years
earlier (see table below). However it is unclear for
what purpose this money has been used – there
has for example been no increase in the number of
health or safety inspectors. It is important to note
that only about one-third of this Inspectorate expenditure
is spent on health and safety enforcement - the rest
is on other labour law enforcement.
